Project HSE Lead

About the role

GHD is seeking an experienced Project HSE Lead to join its UAE team. The role involves on‑site monitoring and auditing of construction contractors to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and audits of construction sites to verify compliance with HSE regulations.
• Develop, deliver and maintain HSE training programmes for site personnel.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, compile reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare emergency response plans, conduct drills and monitor environmental impact of construction activities.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, produce regular reports and lead the HSE team.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of construction HSE experience, preferably in the Middle East.
• Proven experience auditing construction contractors and establishing HSE processes on site.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations and ability to ensure compliance.

Required skills

• ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor certification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Familiarity with ISO 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• OSHAD registration.
• Auditing and HSE systems implementation expertise.
