Project Manager Civil

About the role

The Project Manager Civil is accountable for the end-to-end delivery and performance of an assigned contracting project, integrating construction, engineering, planning, procurement, commercial, quality, HSE and logistics activities. The role ensures safe and timely completion in line with the approved programme, budget and contractual requirements, while protecting project profitability, cash flow and the Company's contractual position. It reports to the Project Director / Senior Director - Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project from mobilisation through testing, commissioning, handover and close-out, driving the Project Execution Plan, governance, responsibility matrix and project controls.
• Integrate construction, engineering, procurement, commercial, planning, QA/QC, HSE and logistics functions.
• Manage site construction, subcontractors and interfaces, including recovery, supplementation, back-charge or replacement recommendations.
• Ensure IFC drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, method statements and authority approvals are available on time, and resolve design discrepancies and interfaces.
• Drive timely award, manufacture and delivery of critical and long-lead materials and subcontract packages.
• Own progress against the baseline programme, identify delays and implement recovery measures; review weekly/monthly look-aheads.
• Within delegated authority, manage profitability, cash flow, cost-to-complete, variations, claims and contractual notices, and protect the Company from unjustified deductions and liquidated damages.
• Ensure quality plans, inspection requirements and HSE procedures are implemented, and oversee the risk and opportunity register.
• Coordinate daily with the Client, Consultant and authorities, and lead the close-out strategy including testing, commissioning, snagging, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and Taking-Over.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Master's in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in building construction / main contracting, including delivery of major or complex projects in the UAE.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential; Arabic preferred.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
