Pulmonologist – Respiratory Medicine Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pulmonologist / Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves comprehensive management of acute and chronic respiratory disorders in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pulmonary and respiratory consultations.
• Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis and interstitial lung disease.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, investigations and patient needs.
• Interpret chest X‑rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases and other diagnostic studies.
• Perform or interpret bronchoscopy and related procedures where credentialed.
• Manage patients with respiratory failure, coordinate escalation of care and provide pre‑operative respiratory assessment for high‑risk surgical patients.
• Provide smoking cessation counseling, respiratory health education and preventive care.
• Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, sleep specialists and physiotherapists to deliver integrated care.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with board certification in pulmonology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the United Arab Emirates.
• Proven experience managing acute and chronic respiratory disorders and working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong clinical communication skills for patient and family education.

Required skills

• Interpretation of chest X‑rays and CT scans.
• Analysis of pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases.
• Performance and interpretation of bronchoscopy.
• Conducting sleep‑related breathing investigations.
• Pre‑operative respiratory assessment for high‑risk surgical patients.
