QA/QC Manager - Desalination

About the role

WSP is hiring a QA/QC Manager in Fujairah to support the Owner's Engineer team in overseeing quality assurance and quality control for a desalination project. The role covers site supervision, construction monitoring, testing and commissioning, and project close-out from a quality documentation perspective, ensuring that the EPC Contractor's work, documents and deliverables align with the EPC contract, project specifications, standards, HSE requirements and Project Company expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor the EPC Contractor's quality management arrangements for design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and comment on quality plans, inspection and test plans, method statements, procedures, material submittals and other quality documents.
• Coordinate with the site supervision team on construction quality, site inspections, material receiving inspections, testing and punch list closure, and track corrective actions to close-out.
• Support review of progress reports, quality records, inspection and test reports and handover documentation, and maintain QA/QC records, registers and reporting inputs for monthly project reporting.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with specifications, codes, standards, statutory requirements and project quality procedures, and coordinate with discipline engineers, HSE personnel, document control and the EPC Contractor.
• Participate in site, quality, progress and coordination meetings, follow up on agreed QA/QC actions, and support readiness reviews for pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, reliability testing and handover.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.

Required profile

• B.Tech/BE in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering.
• 15 years of GCC experience in building and infrastructure and mixed-use development projects is a must; experience in entertainment and/or theme park projects is preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 certified lead auditor.
• Additional training and qualifications in Quality Management and Project Management are an added advantage.
