QA/QC Mechanical Engineer – Substation & Power Transmission

About the role

The QA/QC Mechanical Engineer will lead the quality management system for KBR’s large‑scale power and water transmission projects in Abu Dhabi. Acting as the PMC’s quality focal point, the role coordinates with multiple supervision consultants, EPC contractors and client representatives to ensure compliance with standards and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Program Quality Management System across all assigned projects.
• Monitor consultant and contractor compliance with approved Project Quality Plans, specifications and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Manage internal and external audit schedules, track non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Consolidate monthly QA/QC reports, KPI dashboards and quality performance summaries for senior management.
• Participate in site quality surveillance visits, review Inspection & Test Plans and verify implementation of quality controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience on power, water or substation projects.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management processes.
• Strong expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
• Audit management and NCR/Corrective Action handling.
• KPI monitoring, data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and related documentation.
