Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Abu Dhabi team, focusing on major infrastructure and storm‑water projects. You will manage commercial and quantity‑surveying activities, ensuring accurate measurement, payments, variations and claims while collaborating closely with project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of contractual setup, project scope and BOQ definition practices.
• Generate and review project BOQs, prepare detailed cost estimates from specifications and drawings.
• Measure and verify completed quantities against contract documents and agreed rates.
• Review contractor payment applications, support interim payment certificates and coordinate commercial matters.
• Quantify variations, support claim submission and manage change procedures (MOC).
• Monitor material and BOQ expenditure, analyse cost variances and contribute to monthly project reports.
• Provide cost input on material submittals, substitutions, construction methods and design changes.
• Maintain registers for payments, variations and claims, assist cash‑flow forecasting and reporting.
• Conduct site visits to validate compliance with BOQ requirements and support final account close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of construction industry experience, preferably on infrastructure storm‑water projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ practices, measurement and certification against rate‑based contracts.
• Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards and contractual awareness (e.g., FIDIC).
• Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities with high accuracy in calculations and documentation.
• Fluent English reading and writing; ability to work full‑time on a six‑day onsite schedule.
