Regional Customer Application Engineer

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for a Regional Customer Application Engineer based in Dubai. The role owns project control activity globally and drives consistent functional specifications and common global processes for project implementation, so that customer expectations are met. It has moderate autonomy and requires high levels of operational judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader/manager to define the scope of work, plan the schedule and monitor engineering activities for customer projects
• Interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing and engineering subcontractors
• Develop specialised knowledge in your discipline and act as a best-practice and quality resource, keeping up with the latest technical developments
• Contribute to strategy and policy development within your area of responsibility
• Use technical expertise and data analysis to support recommendations, and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
• Lead small projects with moderate risk and resource requirements, explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in EPC project environments within Transmission & Distribution or Power Generation, with exposure to commercial/tendering, project technical management, application engineering or similar roles
• Willingness to travel worldwide up to 20% or more of the time
• Fluency in Arabic or French is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in engineering disciplines such as civil work, layout and integration design, control and protection hardware, system and performance studies, or electrical design
• Strong English communication skills
• Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes (desired)
