Registered Nurse – Long Term Care Unit (Sharjah)

About the role

The Royal Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Long‑Term Care Unit (LTCU). The role involves delivering safe, patient‑centered care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patients and families in a long‑term care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the long‑term care unit.
• Provide and coordinate nursing care, administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and manage wound care.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, record vital signs and recognize early signs of deterioration.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Support patients and families through education, self‑management strategies and emotional support.
• Maintain infection‑control standards, ensure equipment functionality and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.

Required profile

• Valid registered nurse license issued by the relevant UAE health authority.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Willingness to work across departments and be on call as needed.
• Ability to manage professional re‑licensure and maintain clinical competencies.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Neonatal resuscitation and emergency response procedures.
• Operation of cardiac monitors, ventilators and infusion pumps.
• Medication administration via oral, intravenous and other routes.
• Wound care management and sterile techniques for catheter insertion.
