Resident Engineer Civil – 132 KV and Above

About the role

The Resident Engineer – Civil (Substations – 132 kV and above) will lead and supervise all civil works for high‑voltage substation projects. Acting as the on‑site representative, you will ensure that construction complies with design, quality, safety, and schedule requirements while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil construction activities including foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, and related infrastructure.
• Verify that all works follow approved drawings, specifications, and international/local standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and work procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Serve as the primary liaison between client, contractor, and supervision team on‑site.
• Manage technical issues, site challenges, and contractual matters.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and correspondence.
• Lead site meetings, progress reviews, and report status, risks, and mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience, with significant exposure to substation or power infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale substation construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, QA/QC, and HSE standards.
• Familiarity with IEC, BS, ASTM standards and GCC/UAE regulations is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
