Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will lead the on‑site supervision team for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, acting as the Engineer’s representative. You will ensure all works meet contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all on‑site construction activities, coordinating civil, utilities, QA/QC and HSE personnel.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between client, contractor and project stakeholders, monitoring progress against approved programmes.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, material submissions and inspection requests.
• Lead site meetings, prepare progress reports and ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations and HSE requirements.
• Review contractor claims, variations and technical queries, and oversee project handover documentation and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of construction supervision experience, including at least 5 years as a Resident Engineer on large‑scale infrastructure or mixed‑use developments.
• Demonstrated experience in roads, utilities, wet and dry services and public‑realm projects within the UAE/GCC.
