Riding Engineer – Line Maintenance International

About the role

The Riding Engineer ensures aircraft airworthiness and operational reliability across Etihad’s line‑maintenance network, supporting both outstations and the Abu Dhabi hub. The role involves performing certified maintenance tasks, adhering to UAE GCAA regulations and Etihad technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute riding engineer duties in strict accordance with approved maintenance documents, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver high‑quality maintenance to release aircraft safely and on schedule, applying technical judgment to resolve defects during line operations.
• Maintain aircraft interior and exterior standards in line with Etihad’s brand expectations.
• Promote modern tools, digital systems and industry best practices to improve efficiency, reliability and safety.
• Support Etihad’s OGSM framework and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• High school certificate; technical or engineering diploma/degree preferred.
• Valid Aircraft Maintenance License (GCAA/EASA Part‑66/ICAO convertible to GCAA).
• 2‑3 years of certifying experience on at least two Etihad type ratings (Level 3) and a minimum of 5 years total aircraft maintenance experience, including 3 years in line‑maintenance.
• Strong technical knowledge of line maintenance and defect rectification.
• Clear communication, high attention to detail and ability to work independently in an international environment.
