Risk Manager

About the role

A Risk Manager is sought to build and oversee the company's enterprise risk management function, covering insurance and reinsurance risks, capital and solvency, and regulatory compliance. Candidates should be highly motivated and experienced, and interested candidates are asked to send their CV by email.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework aligned with CBUAE regulations, keeping the company within its Board-approved risk appetite
• Support the Risk Committee and Board in risk oversight, including risk reports and dashboards, and maintain risk policies, procedures and internal controls
• Review and challenge actuarial assumptions, methodologies and outputs, and support actuarial valuation in line with regulatory and accounting standards
• Monitor capital adequacy and solvency, support economic capital modelling and stress testing
• Assess the effectiveness of reinsurance arrangements, including counterparty risk and credit exposures
• Identify and monitor underwriting, reserving, market, credit and operational risks, and set up KRIs and early warning frameworks
• Carry out regular stress testing and scenario analysis
• Ensure compliance with CBUAE Insurance Regulations, corporate governance requirements and risk management standards
• Provide independent risk assessment on new products and strategic initiatives, and advise on business continuity management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field
• Actuarial qualification (partially or fully qualified) preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in insurance or reinsurance risk management or actuarial functions

Required skills

• Strong understanding of CBUAE insurance regulations, ERM frameworks, ORSA, solvency and capital models
• Knowledge of ISO 31000 and ISO 22301
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to challenge and provide independent oversight
• Solid understanding of actuarial techniques
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
