Security Officer

About the role

Hyde is looking for a Security Officer to protect its premises and keep order on site. The role covers access control, patrols, traffic control and incident reporting, and requires working various shifts including nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the premises, prevent unauthorised entry and manage visitor and contractor passes
• Carry out regular security patrols of internal and external areas, including monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV
• Manage keys and carry out locking and unlocking duties as set out in the Assignment Instructions
• Provide traffic control and enforce parking restrictions where required
• Maintain all logbooks, records and documentation according to the Assignment Instructions
• Test security equipment routinely and report faults or defects
• Follow health and safety procedures, record hazards and accidents, and keep walkways and emergency escape routes clear
• Investigate fire alarm activations and respond to emergencies following established protocols
• Support and guide staff, visitors and contractors while maintaining security
• Report security incidents, breaches and suspicious activity, and liaise with emergency services and external security personnel when needed
• Stay aware of current security threats and contribute to security awareness initiatives

Required profile

• Fluent English is essential
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation
• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
