Senior Accountant

About the role

Peace Global Logistic Shipping LLC is hiring a Senior Accountant in Sharjah. The role covers daily accounting operations, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, billing, intercompany reporting and the supervision of accounting team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations and record financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Maintain the General Ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, collections and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Manage billing and prepare and issue customer invoices in line with contracts and operational records.
• Prepare and review intercompany financial reports and reconciliations across countries and regional offices.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements and periodic reporting obligations.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and financial analyses to support decisions and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate with operational heads across regions to provide financial insights, monitor costs, resolve discrepancies and improve performance.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes, internal controls and financial systems.
• Supervise and guide accounting team members, review their work and support reporting and compliance deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or CA Inter qualification.
• Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding or supply chain.
• Prior supervisory experience in an accounting or finance role.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally or Focus.
