Senior Accountant - UAE Market

About the role

A company is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant with proven expertise in core accounting, financial reporting and compliance within the UAE market. The role covers monthly closing, budgeting, forecasting, customer billing and payment collection, and calls for strong analytical ability, attention to detail and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Key responsibilities

• Record, review and report all business transactions accurately in line with IFRS, and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, the general ledger and reconciliations
• Prepare and file VAT and other tax returns in line with UAE regulations, and keep proper accounting documentation and vouchers
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, assist in annual audited financial statements, and analyse expense variances for management
• Generate MIS reports including monthly profitability, quarterly and annual budgets and cash flow projections, and give financial recommendations
• Develop and monitor yearly and quarterly budgets, prepare rolling forecasts and run financial modelling and scenario analysis
• Oversee customer billing and invoicing, build client relationships to improve receivables, and coordinate with departments on finance matters
• Negotiate with suppliers, onboard vendors, maintain supplier databases and track procurement costs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent (mandatory)
• Preferred: M.Com, Inter CA or MBA (Finance)
• At least 4 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the UAE market
• Solid knowledge of UAE tax regulations and financial compliance
• Prior experience preparing MIS reports, budgets and financial statements is essential
