Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

A leading organization is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services and AI agent orchestration systems for an enterprise AI platform. The role focuses on secure, high‑performance solutions in on‑premise and air‑gapped environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agent orchestration systems, workflow logic, and scalable microservices.
• Build secure API integrations with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and other enterprise data platforms.
• Develop Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) services using vector databases.
• Implement authentication, role‑based access control, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms.
• Optimize backend services for secure on‑premise deployments and monitor performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably with distributed systems or production AI platforms.
• Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI/Django) and proficiency in Go or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, gRPC and API gateways (Kong or NGINX).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and vector databases such as Weaviate or Milvus.
• Familiarity with SAP integration protocols (OData, SOAP) is a plus.
