Senior Commissioning Manager - UZ Islands (Office Based)

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager for the UZ Islands project, an office-based role based in Abu Dhabi. The person leads and manages all commissioning, start-up and handover activities so that facilities are safely commissioned, tested and handed over to operations in line with project specifications, schedule, quality standards and HSE requirements for a high-profile client.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning, execution and delivery of commissioning, start-up and handover, ensuring safe and compliant transition from construction to operations.
• Coordinate the FEED/EPC contractor from construction through commissioning and handover, and review its construction/installation plan and procedures.
• Supervise, monitor and inspect the EPC contractor and its subcontractors in line with ADNOC Offshore policy, and maintain their adherence to safety, quality and schedule.
• Review design documents, give constructability input and take part in constructability and readiness reviews.
• Assist with construction input to bid preparation and estimates, and coordinate with procurement and project controls on materials, equipment and work orders.
• Take part in site surveys, generate reports, and liaise with ADNOC Offshore Operations and the PMT team.
• Participate in HSE improvement activities and review engineering drawings to suggest safer, more cost-effective methods and to reduce hot work.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or another discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in a similar role.
• PMC experience on EPC onshore brownfield field production upgradation and modification of existing facilities projects is highly preferable.

Required skills

• Thorough working knowledge of construction completion procedures and pre-commissioning activities.
• Ability to review engineering design drawings and challenge work content for improvement and cost-effectiveness.
