Senior Data Science Manager

About the role

The Careem Data Science team is looking for a senior leader to drive AI‑powered solutions across mobility of people and things. You will guide a distributed team of top data scientists, shape the AI strategy, and deliver real‑time models that improve user experiences and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Define a vision and roadmap for data science in the mobility domain, aligning with product and commercial goals.
• Lead, mentor and grow a globally distributed data science team, fostering collaboration with engineering, product and commercial partners.
• Develop and ship state‑of‑the‑art machine‑learning, deep‑learning, optimization and NLP models on Careem’s in‑house AI platform.
• Partner with Uber’s AI teams to leverage shared platforms and accelerate technology adoption.
• Engage with universities and the regional AI community to build talent pipelines and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, statistics, economics or mathematics.
• 8+ years of full‑time experience in data science and machine‑learning, with a proven record of leading and scaling teams.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑impact AI products and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication and critical‑thinking skills, with a culture of ownership and collaboration.
