Senior HSE Engineer

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Senior HSE Engineer for a civil construction project in Dubai. The role covers risk assessment, safety enforcement, training and environmental compliance on construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards on construction sites.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and incidents.
• Enforce adherence to safety protocols, regulations and industry standards.
• Deliver safety training for site workers, subcontractors and visitors, and promote health, safety and environmental best practices.
• Maintain records of safety incidents, corrective actions, inspections, training, certifications and compliance activities.
• Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution control and handling of hazardous materials.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure they are safe and properly maintained.
• Provide ongoing safety advice and recommendations to site management and workers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of UAE experience in HSE.
• HSE management certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, training and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, safety-conscious mindset committed to preventing workplace injuries and environmental damage.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, local safety regulations and environmental laws.
• Ability to carry out site inspections and risk assessments efficiently.
