Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer

About the role

The Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer will lead the technical design of material and corrosion solutions for offshore oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. Working within KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions team, you will ensure that all deliverables meet safety, reliability and cost‑effectiveness targets while supporting the company’s sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review material selection philosophies, corrosion control strategies and detailed specifications during FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Prepare Material Selection Reports, Corrosion Control Manuals, material adequacy checks, cathodic protection scopes and material take‑offs.
• Perform corrosion rate modelling using ECE 5.8 and integrate results into design calculations.
• Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical and other disciplines to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers, drive quality, schedule adherence and ensure robust M&C deliverables across project stages.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Pre‑FEED and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of material selection, degradation mechanisms and corrosion control strategies.
• Ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and deliver technical leadership.
