Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist – Digital Twin

About the role

McDermott International is seeking a Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist to lead Digital Twin initiatives for offshore oil & gas projects. The role requires 8‑12 years of experience in digitalization and autonomous operations within the oil & gas sector, with deep technical knowledge of engineering, construction, operations and maintenance of offshore facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic insights and best‑practice recommendations to improve EPC and O&M processes through Digital Twin solutions.
• Develop, maintain and enhance digital platforms, software and systems used for O&M operations.
• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing of Digital Twin projects, ensuring alignment with scope and client requirements.
• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed analyses and design in accordance with project specifications.
• Interface with internal departments and client representatives to gather inputs for solution design and use‑case detailing.
• Document substantive communications and raise technical queries to clarify work scope.
• Conduct technical quality audits and develop departmental guidelines for the Digital Twin practice.
• Mentor and oversee development engineers and contractors, ensuring efficient implementation of approved solutions.
• Manage project budgets, timelines and resources, and maintain strong partnerships with owners and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in digitalization and autonomous operations within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of offshore facility engineering, construction, operations and maintenance.
• Proven experience leading Digital Twin projects from concept to delivery.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with clients and cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to develop technical guidelines and mentor junior engineers.
