Senior Project Engineer - High-Rise Construction

About the role

Danube Properties is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join its Projects Onsite department in the UAE. The role covers the planning, execution and delivery of high-rise construction projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, quality standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate has a strong civil engineering background and a proven record of managing complex high-rise developments in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all phases of high-rise construction projects from inception to handover.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Supervise on-site engineering teams, subcontractors and consultants.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate coordination between design, procurement and construction teams.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify workmanship and material quality.
• Manage change orders, variations and contract administration.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field).
• 10-12 years of experience in high-rise construction within the UAE.
• Demonstrated experience managing full-life-cycle construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations and permitting processes.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Professional engineering license (e.g. UAE PE) preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera and MS Project.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with site safety management and quality control.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
