Senior Props Technician – Luxury Entertainment Venue

About the role

The Senior Props Technician will lead the preparation, maintenance, and safe operation of all theatrical props and scenic elements for a high‑end entertainment venue on Palm Jumeirah. This hands‑on backstage position demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to keep a resident production running flawlessly night after night.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, preset, operate, strike and reset props for rehearsals and performances.
• Ensure accurate positioning of props according to approved show plots and cue sequences.
• Conduct pre‑show and post‑show inspections of all show‑critical props and scenic elements.
• Execute backstage prop changes and cues safely during live shows.
• Maintain, repair, and modify props using carpentry, mechanical, fabrication and finishing techniques.
• Diagnose failures and perform rapid repairs between or during performances.
• Maintain accurate inventories of props, consumables, spare parts, tools and maintenance materials.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules for critical equipment and props.
• Coordinate with Stage, Automation, AV, Lighting, Wardrobe and Show Management.
• Train and supervise junior technicians or assistants.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in theatrical or live‑event prop fabrication and maintenance.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, night‑time environment.
• Strong safety awareness, especially for moving or performer‑interactive props.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep backstage areas clean and secure.
