Senior Sourcing Manager

About the role

The Senior Sourcing Manager acts as the interface with stakeholders, ensuring delivery of their service requirements and those of procurement. The role leads and manages high-spend and critical category sourcing activities in a timely, cost-effective way that meets group standards and department objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic category sourcing strategies, including risk analysis and mitigation, and coordinate activities within the assigned spend category to achieve the lowest total cost of acquisition while meeting quality and timeline expectations
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, understand their business goals and supplier performance requirements, challenge demand and communicate procurement strategies and policies
• Ensure full compliance of sourcing activities with internal policies and transparent, confidential processes
• Translate requirements into RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, negotiate scope of work and use the corporate e-sourcing platform
• Create pre-negotiation plans, run negotiations with suppliers and conduct post-negotiation debriefs
• Build cost models and purchase price analyses, negotiate best cost, terms and conditions, and prepare and manage supplier contracts with Legal and the business unit
• Monitor and review supplier performance, including quarterly vendor reviews
• Analyse procurement spend, conduct supplier and market research, and set up external benchmark and gap analyses
• Manage and coach a team of sourcing specialists and procurement executives, allocate projects and ensure compliance with group procurement processes

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role within a procurement function, ideally in the UAE under a centralized procurement model
• Graduate of any discipline, preferably with a finance or engineering background; MBA preferred
• Detailed technical understanding of the assigned commodity or category of spend
• Strong project management, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
• English
