Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

KEO, an AEP/PMCM firm recognised as a top international design firm, is looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer with a strong background in construction supervision to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The engineer will support the delivery of a prestigious waterfront residential development comprising luxury villas and premium residential communities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate detailed structural designs, calculations, specifications and IFC documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international codes and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, façade and other design disciplines during design and construction.
• Support Architect of Record responsibilities, including design amendments, authority approvals and contractor design reviews.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs and method statements.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor structural works, quality, safety and compliance with approved documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design conflicts and construction challenges.
• Take part in BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Monitor construction progress, quality and structural compliance throughout project delivery.
• Prepare technical and inspection reports and support project handover, including as-built documentation and the Defects Liability Period.

Required profile

• 15+ years of work experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years' experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Hands-on experience on large-scale building projects in the UAE; proven experience delivering luxury villa and high-end residential developments.
• Previous experience on waterfront or coastal developments is highly desirable.
