Senior Technical Software Engineer - Java Full Stack

About the role

Emirates is looking for a Senior Technical Software Engineer / Java Full Stack to join its IT team in Dubai. The role supports the implementation of software engineering strategy, standards and guidelines in an assigned feature team, and provides technical leadership across the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex solutions, and carry out technical design reviews.
• Drive engineering practices such as test-driven development, agile, lean software development and root cause analysis, and implement process automation.
• Evaluate problems and requirements, drive proofs-of-concept and prototypes, and debug complex issues.
• Manage and mentor Software Engineers, and ensure adherence to design and coding standards.
• Maintain products through corrective, adaptive, preventative and perfective maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience developing complex software for large, multi-functional organisations, and production support using ITIL.
• Leadership role.

Required skills

• Full-stack Java development: ReactJS, Redux, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST and SOAP APIs.
• Java 11-17, Spring Boot, Spring Reactive, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate.
• Microservices, cloud technologies, and CI/CD, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Database development with MS SQL, Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven, Confluence and JIRA.
• Single Sign-On, OAuth 2.0, API integration, CMS and identification and access management platforms.
