Simulator Technician I

About the role

CAE is looking for a Simulator Technician I to support the operation, maintenance and reliability of simulator equipment and associated systems in its Abu Dhabi, UAE maritime training environment. The role suits an early-career technician or engineering graduate who wants to build specialist simulator maintenance skills through structured training and hands-on technical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and perform preventive maintenance on simulators and associated systems
• Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Record and track maintenance activities in the maintenance management system
• Complete technical and operational training, and run pre- and post-training checks
• Carry out basic visual system alignments and automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests
• Assist with simulator refurbishment and hardware modifications
• Follow CAE's Quality Management System and provide responsive technical support to customers
• Maintain simulators, technical areas and equipment to housekeeping standards
• Support logistics such as receiving parts, repairs, testing and validation, and complete administrative duties
• Provide technical support to the wider Technical Services team

Required profile

• Two-year technical degree or four-year Bachelor's degree in engineering (electronics, computers, IT, mechatronics or related)
• 0-2 years of relevant technical experience
• Ability to work flexible shifts and read and interpret system drawings and schematics
• Driving licence and fluency in English

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analysers
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory
• Soldering and circuit board repair
• Computer literacy, including PC and computer system architecture
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
