Software Engineer – Java / Full Stack (3 month contract)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading defence organisation in Abu Dhabi that is expanding its AI and software engineering capabilities. The role is a 3‑month contract (with possible extension) focused on designing, developing and deploying scalable software applications for mission‑critical, AI‑driven projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop secure APIs and integrate backend services with frontend applications and external systems.
• Contribute to full‑stack development using modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue.js.
• Work with Linux environments, Docker and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to develop and deploy AI‑driven solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, including architecture designs, testing plans and release notes.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Practical experience with frontend frameworks (Angular, React or Vue.js).
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases and exposure to NoSQL technologies.
• Hands‑on experience working in Linux environments and with Docker.
