Software Support and Implementation Engineer

About the role

The Support Engineer will ensure smooth operation, support and maintenance of the Fuel Retail System across more than 500 fuel stations and the Head Office in Abu Dhabi. The role combines hands‑on infrastructure management with leading a technical support team.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve application, user and system issues for back‑office, POS and bank terminals.
• Maintain high performance of retail systems across the Head Office and all sites, including MS SQL Server‑based databases.
• Provide user support and training at the Head Office and fuel stations, and coordinate with vendors for third‑party issues.

Required profile

• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing support team.
• Capable of managing high‑pressure situations and leading incident responses.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Willingness to work on‑call and shift rotations; UAE driving licence required.

Required skills

• Infrastructure support (networking, servers, storage, cloud, security).
• Experience with POS systems, bank terminals and retail environments.
• Implementation, testing, configuration, troubleshooting and support of applications.
• SQL query writing, MS SQL Server management and scripting.
• Understanding of Web Services, APIs and IP‑based protocols.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs and related tools.
