Sous Chef (Hot Kitchen) - SOL Coffee

About the role

SOL Coffee is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join its growing team in Business Bay, Dubai. You will work alongside the Executive Chef and Head Chef on a new café concept focused on quality, creativity and exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the daily operation of the hot kitchen and work closely with the Executive Chef on food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Supervise and lead the kitchen team during daily operations and ensure smooth kitchen flow during service.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and company standards.
• Assist in menu development, seasonal specials and recipe improvements.
• Train, mentor and support CDPs, Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants.
• Monitor food preparation, stock levels, ordering and inventory; minimize food waste and help with food cost control.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards at all times.
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience.
• At least 1-2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
• Experience in cafés, restaurants or casual dining concepts.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of hot kitchen operations.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Good understanding of food costing, inventory management and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
