Specialist Consultant – Brain Injury Medicine

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specialist/Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine to join a leading healthcare institution in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke‑related brain injury and other neurological impairments.
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans and oversee their implementation across acute, sub‑acute and rehabilitation phases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with neurology, neurosurgery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other specialists.
• Monitor neurological status, functional outcomes and maintain accurate medical records.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis and rehabilitation pathways.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognized Australian Board/Fellowship qualification in Brain Injury Medicine.
• Valid medical registration in Australia or the country of current practice.
• Significant clinical experience in brain injury medicine, rehabilitation, neurology or a closely related field.
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing, subject to health authority assessment.

• Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making abilities in neuro‑rehabilitation.
• Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork and patient counseling.
