Specialist Projects Control

About the role

The Specialist Projects Control will be responsible for overseeing project cost control activities across budgets, commitments, VOWD, forecasting and change control. The role ensures accurate cost data and reporting to support project management and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assurance that final forecast cost and VOWD are accurate and deliver commentary on cost performance.
• Coordinate and consolidate monthly cost information, supporting weekly/monthly project controls reporting.
• Work with procurement and finance to ensure correct coding of requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and invoices.
• Verify contractor and supplier invoices, investigate variances and prepare cost reports highlighting budget utilization.
• Evaluate variation requests and claims, prepare counter‑estimates and recommend approvals.
• Prepare monthly cost status reports, annual capital and operating budgets, and update cost registers per procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of cost control experience on large oil & gas projects.
• Professional certifications such as ACE; PMP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oil & gas codes, standards and budgeting principles.

Required skills

• Cost Control and Cost Estimation
• Budgeting and forecasting
• ACE certification (or equivalent)
• Experience with cost estimation software such as k‑base and @Risk
• PMP certification (preferred)
