Specialist Psychiatrist – Australian Qualified

About the role

SearchPlus HR is recruiting a qualified Specialist Psychiatrist to join a reputable multispecialty healthcare group in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and evidence‑based treatment to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including medical, psychological and mental health evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other mental health disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication management, psychotherapy and other appropriate interventions.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed and manage acute psychiatric crises.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, general practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
• Provide counselling and psycho‑education to patients and families where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to confidentiality, governance and safety standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate specialist qualification in Psychiatry, with UK or Australian specialist training.
• Relevant clinical experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Strong knowledge of evidence‑based psychiatric treatment and psychopharmacology.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgement and interpersonal skills.
• Eligibility for professional licensing with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
