Specialist Technician - HVAC

About the role

The Specialist Technician serves as the subject‑matter expert for complex HVAC and chiller systems. You will lead commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting and repair activities across multiple sites while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for assigned HVAC and chiller products, providing advanced diagnostics and solutions for high‑complexity issues.
• Lead commissioning, start‑up, inspection and troubleshooting of complex systems within defined timelines and quality standards.
• Diagnose and repair system malfunctions, preparing accurate time and material estimates.
• Perform installations and system commissioning in compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and company procedures.
• Interpret technical documentation such as electrical schematics, piping diagrams, psychrometric charts and control logic.
• Escalate unresolved issues to engineering or senior technical support as needed.
• Serve as the primary on‑site technical contact, communicating scope, status and recommendations to customers.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, additional labor or material change orders.
• Document work performed through detailed service reports and system status updates.
• Coach, mentor and train junior technicians and service team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience working with HVAC and chiller systems.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑person, high‑complexity projects on‑site.
• Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory standards applicable to HVAC installations.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting schematics, diagrams and control logic.
• Effective communication skills for customer interaction and documentation.
