Sr. Specialist – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for Equipment ensures reliable operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of pharmaceutical production equipment while complying with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role also supports equipment qualification activities and works closely with production, QA, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for tablet, liquid, and semi‑solid manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support equipment qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) and ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and safety standards.
• Prepare and review maintenance SOPs, documentation, and coordinate maintenance planning and shutdown schedules with Production, QA, and Engineering.
• Monitor spare parts inventory, initiate procurement requests, and participate in internal and external audits.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Mechanical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
