Staff Nurse – Oncology (Al Barsha Clinic)

About the role

The Al Barsha Clinic is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse specialized in Oncology to provide comprehensive, age‑specific patient care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver critical care for paediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric oncology patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, develop and revise individualized care plans, and coordinate clinical pathways.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and manage intra‑venous access devices, including peripheral and central lines.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑procedure nursing care, including assistance with lumbar puncture, bone‑marrow biopsy, thoracentesis and chest‑tube insertion.
• Document all patient information accurately and ensure compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation standards.
• Maintain unit supplies, equipment checks, and participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge instructions, and coping strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3‑year program) or equivalent degree with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia.
• Valid nursing license/registration in the home country or country of last employment.
• Minimum two years recent post‑graduate experience in Oncology nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications.

Required skills

• Chemotherapy and blood product administration.
• Venous access management (peripheral and central lines).
• Intra‑Venous Access Device (IVAD) handling for cytotoxic and biologic agents.
• Oncology emergency management and palliative/end‑of‑life care.
• Comprehensive patient assessment and documentation.
