Staff Solutions Engineer (Dubai)

About the role

Kong is hiring a Staff Solutions Engineer in Dubai to join its Sales organization. The engineer works alongside the Account Executive team to lead the technical sales cycle for Enterprise and Strategic accounts in the UAE, driving new business while learning about and promoting the company's API management and connectivity technology.

Key responsibilities

• Help customers understand the value of Kong's API Management and Connectivity solutions.
• Grow trusted client relationships through discovery, requirement gathering, product reviews and demos, and into production.
• Support PoCs throughout the evaluation process.
• Onboard new customers and establish revenue potential with existing ones.
• Coordinate with support, product and engineering teams to prioritize customer needs and ensure satisfaction across assigned accounts.
• Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementation and service engagements.
• Take part in lead generation activities such as blog posts, webinars and industry events.

Required profile

• 7+ years of pre-sales solution engineering or relevant experience at a SaaS, open-source or enterprise software company.
• Experience working with open-source technology.
• Confident presenting and leading discussions with C-level executives, product managers and engineers.
• Enthusiasm for a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture.

Required skills

• Foundational knowledge of API management and integration, cloud computing trends and open-source business models.
• Bonus points: API gateway or service mesh experience, Docker or Kubernetes, strong knowledge of NGINX, HTTP, AWS, Postgres or Cassandra, Linux fluency, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, and DCOS/Mesos or Docker Swarm familiarity.
