Static Specialist - Upstream Oil & Gas

About the role

Penspen is looking for an experienced Static Equipment Specialist to support a major Upstream PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides technical expertise in the engineering and design review of static equipment throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes and project specifications. Practical experience in Early Production Facilities (EPF) and Upstream Oil & Gas projects is required, with mandatory exposure to Front-End Engineering, Detailed Engineering and EPC phases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for the engineering and design of static equipment in line with project requirements and industry standards.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as equipment datasheets, specifications, calculations, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documents.
• Ensure pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, storage tanks, separators, pig launchers/receivers, air coolers, fired heaters and other static equipment comply with ADNOC requirements and international codes.
• Review vendor packages and monitor the timely resolution of technical queries and deviations.
• Take part in HAZOP, HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews, Constructability Reviews and technical workshops.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Pipeline disciplines for integrated engineering solutions.
• Support procurement, fabrication, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up, and resolve engineering issues during EPC execution.
• Monitor engineering progress, identify technical risks and ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, quality requirements and HSE regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university; professional engineering registration is an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience on PMC, Engineering Consultancy or EPC projects.
• Mandatory practical experience in EPF and Upstream Oil & Gas projects, and in Front-End Engineering, FEED, Detailed Engineering and EPC execution.
• Previous ADNOC or other major Middle East operator project experience is highly preferred.
