Teaching Assistant (Special Needs Support) - Noya British School

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, starting in academic year 2026-27. The school is part of the Aldar Schools network and aims to provide a world-class, inclusive education that fosters critical thinking, creativity and leadership. The post covers support for students with additional or special educational needs, alongside work with teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the school in achieving its vision and targets, and comply with health and safety, equal opportunities and performance management policies
• Take part in annual training on child protection, safeguarding and health and safety
• Follow the staff dress code, computer acceptable use policy and attend staff briefings
• With students: understand their additional or special educational needs, adapt lessons and materials, build respectful relationships, help with study and organisational skills, liaise with parents and model good practice
• With teachers: meet on teaching and learning plans, prepare materials, work on differentiated activities, support specific teaching techniques, supervise practical tasks and help keep records on student progress

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in education or special needs education, or a high school diploma with a special needs education programme
• At least 2 years of experience in the same field
• Fluent written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills and a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Clean enhanced DBS check or police clearance; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
