Textile Testing Technician / Apparel Compliance Analyst

About the role

A full-time, mid-to-senior level Textile Testing Technician / Apparel Compliance Analyst is sought to evaluate fabric quality, run textile performance tests and make sure apparel products meet quality and compliance requirements. The role covers fabric testing, garment inspection, material performance, product safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Run laboratory tests on fabrics, yarns, fibers and finished apparel products
• Evaluate properties such as tensile strength, colorfastness, shrinkage, abrasion resistance and durability
• Perform physical and chemical tests against product specifications
• Inspect garments for stitching defects, dimensional accuracy, color variation and finishing quality
• Check material composition, labeling and test documentation for accuracy
• Investigate textile defects and product non-conformities
• Prepare lab reports, inspection records and compliance documentation
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, quality teams and product development
• Support supplier evaluations, product audits and quality improvement; recommend process improvements

Required profile

• Degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Fashion Technology or a related field preferred
• Background in one of those disciplines or a related one
• Currently residing in the UAE, legally authorized to work there; tourist and visit visa holders are not eligible
• Personal UAE bank account to receive salary; previous professional experience is an advantage but not mandatory

Required skills

• Knowledge of textile fibers, yarn structures, fabric construction, dyeing and finishing
• Fabric performance testing (colorfastness, tensile strength, pilling, shrinkage, abrasion resistance)
• Apparel product safety, labeling and compliance standards
• Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, AATCC or equivalent standards is an advantage
• Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, good communication with suppliers and QA teams
