Unit Head – Program & Project Management Governance

About the role

The Unit Head will lead the Program & Project Management Governance function within Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management. This senior position is responsible for establishing consistent governance, assurance and reporting across all technology initiatives while developing UAE National talent within the team.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and improve the technology project governance framework, policies, standards and decision rights.
• Lead independent project health checks, quality reviews and assurance assessments, monitoring scope, schedule, cost, risks and benefits.
• Own portfolio dashboards, reporting calendars and data‑quality controls to provide timely management information.
• Coordinate governance forums, prepare agendas, decision papers and ensure transparent escalation across stakeholders.
• Develop the PM Governance workforce plan, monitor vacancies, capacity, utilization and succession risks.
• Create development plans for UAE Nationals, manage mentoring, coaching and professional certification pathways.

Required profile

• UAE National with extensive senior leadership experience in PMO governance.
• Proven track record of managing large technology portfolios and delivering governance compliance.
• Strong capability in workforce planning, succession management and staff development.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
