VMware & Nutanix Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced VMware & Nutanix Subject Matter Expert to support and manage enterprise infrastructure across VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft Azure and Windows Server platforms in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and support VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, storage, VMs).
• Manage Nutanix infrastructure via Prism Central, AHV, cluster health, capacity and lifecycle.
• Administer Microsoft Azure services including VMs, networking, storage, backup and security.
• Perform Windows Server administration – installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning.
• Handle infrastructure lifecycle activities such as patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation and technology refresh.
• Monitor health, address performance, availability and capacity issues, and support incident, problem, change and service request management per ITIL.
• Conduct root cause analysis, support disaster recovery, backup and business continuity.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities using PowerShell, Ansible or Terraform.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs and knowledge articles, and collaborate with application, network, security and cloud teams.

Required profile

• BSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of IT infrastructure operations experience.
• Minimum 6 years VMware administration and at least 3 years each in Nutanix and Azure administration.
• Proven ability to manage critical incidents in high‑pressure production environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Nutanix Prism Central, Prism Element, AHV, Lifecycle Manager, capacity monitoring, data protection.
• Microsoft Azure VM, virtual networks, storage, backup, IAM, security and governance.
• Windows Server DNS, DHCP, file services, patching, PowerShell scripting.
• Automation tools: PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform (optional).
• Monitoring tools: SCOM, HP Service Assurance (optional).
• Certifications: ITIL Foundation, VMware VCP, Nutanix NCP, Microsoft AZ‑104 (optional).
