About the role
The Welding Inspector will lead inspection activities for large projects, ensuring compliance with international welding and NDT codes and client specifications. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role involves direct client interaction and coordination with internal technical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Review contractual requirements, technical standards and develop quality plans.
- Select appropriate inspection techniques and supervise execution according to the approved Quality Plan.
- Prepare and deliver inspection reports, manage non‑conformities and corrective actions.
- Witness welding procedure qualification tests and monitor in‑process welding parameters.
- Review radiography films, endorse RT reports and ensure compliance with approved drawings and test plans.
Required profile
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS‑CWI certification (or equivalent).
- ASNT/PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT (or equivalent).
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HNC.
- Minimum 5 years of welding/NDT inspection experience (8–10 years for senior level).
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS codes.
- Proficiency in welding inspection and non‑destructive testing techniques.
- Ability to interpret radiography films and review PWHT procedures.
- Experience with inspection documentation, reporting and handling of NCRs.
