AC Technician

About the role

Meliá Desert Palm Dubai, a luxury urban resort in a polo estate in Dubai, is looking for a skilled and dependable AC Technician to join its Engineering team. The role covers the maintenance and repair of the resort's heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, keeping facilities safe, efficient and comfortable for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems across the resort.
• Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance according to maintenance plans and hotel standards.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and repair them to minimise equipment downtime.
• Inspect HVAC equipment daily, record operating readings and report abnormalities or maintenance risks.
• Clean, adjust and service HVAC systems for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and keep accurate daily maintenance records, logs and work completion reports.
• Use tools, materials and equipment safely and store them properly; read technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals.
• Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised and compliant with safety standards.
• Support sustainability initiatives by promoting energy-efficient HVAC operation and waste reduction.
• Act as a member of the hotel's Fire Brigade, taking part in emergencies, fire drills and safety training.
• Communicate with Engineering leadership and follow hotel policies, health and safety regulations and any extra duties assigned by Hotel Management.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience as an AC Technician, HVAC Technician or in a similar role.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Good understanding of air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and heating systems.
• Ability to work safely in hot, confined or physically demanding environments and to lift heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible and reliable, able to handle operational and emergency maintenance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English, including reading, writing and speaking.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC equipment.
• Reading technical drawings, schematics and maintenance plans.
• Knowledge of HVAC preventive maintenance practices and safety procedures.
