Accountant

About the role

GL events Middle East is seeking an Accountant dedicated to managing the end‑to‑end accounts payable function. You will work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment ensuring invoices and vendor payments are processed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Handle high volumes of vendor invoices and transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures.
• Prepare payment runs and monitor due dates to guarantee timely payments.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and AP reconciliations.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and other internal departments.
• Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Monitor and maintain vendor master data.
• Prepare and update AP reporting such as cash‑flow, bank reconciliations, and ad‑hoc reports for management.

Required profile

• Experience handling high‑volume accounts payable processes.
• Familiarity with month‑end closing and AP reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies.
• Capability to work closely with procurement, operations and finance teams.
• Understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
