Accountant (UAE)

About the role

The Accountant will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting and VAT compliance in line with UAE regulations, supporting audit requirements for a trading/commodity business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, process accounts payable and receivable, and verify sales invoices.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and perform bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations, prepare and file VAT returns, and maintain VAT documentation for audits.
• Process supplier invoices, schedule payments, follow up on customer collections and monitor credit limits.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits and support statutory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in the trading or commodity sector.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and commercial law requirements.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA or CMA is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with UAE VAT filing and compliance.
• General Ledger management.
