Architectural Inspector

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Inspector to join its construction supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The inspector oversees construction activities on building projects, ensuring compliance with architectural specifications, building codes and safety standards, and acts as a key link between the design team and construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor architectural engineering work against the inspection plan, drawings, codes and specifications, and report on architectural progress
• Liaise with the Senior Architectural Engineer and other engineers and managers, and review contractor shop drawings to flag issues affecting stability or function
• Monitor contractor compliance with the approved Quality Control Plan and the inspection protocols, and check safety aspects of architectural installations
• Review and monitor variations to the work to limit time and cost impacts, and assist in expediting approvals and NOCs from authorities and the client
• Maintain site records including daily diaries and monthly progress photographs, and keep records of submittals, tests and inspections
• Perform and evaluate tests of architectural finishes and components, conduct field checks of placement and quality, and issue NCRs to contractors
• Ensure all work follows the inspection plan, drawings, codes and specifications, and comply with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual
• Assist with inspection of completed works, coordinate with contractors and on-site teams, and monitor and report on HSE matters while taking part in HSE training and meetings

Required profile

• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in construction inspection, architectural supervision or building quality assurance
• Diploma or degree in architecture
