About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Chief Steward to support banquet and kitchen operations at Aloft Abu Dhabi. The role ensures efficient clean‑up, assists with plate‑ups and helps maintain high standards of hygiene and service for our guests.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and assist stewards to optimise clean‑up processes.
- Monitor water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning, documenting results.
- Assist with banquet plate‑ups and support cooks with required items.
- Transport and stock banquet and buffet areas, returning cleaned items to proper locations.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
- Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
- Follow company safety, security and uniform policies, reporting incidents as needed.
- Provide courteous guest service and maintain professional appearance.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant hospitality experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
Required skills
- Operation of commercial cleaning equipment (dish‑washing machine, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, trash compactor).
