Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts

About the role

The company is hiring an Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts to support the Finance Controller in overseeing the finance and accounting operations of the group. The role suits someone with a sound understanding of commodities trading or manufacturing operations and exceptional numerical proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Finance Controller to manage accounts and financial operations across the group.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries and accounts payable/receivable.
• Carry out month-end and year-end closing and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Monitor and reconcile bank transactions and accounts.
• Handle cost centre and profit centre accounting, and drive accurate monthly and annual closing of books for revenue, expenses, assets, capital and appropriations.
• Prepare MIS, consolidate the books of accounts and prepare other financial reports required by management.
• Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, internal audits and annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with taxation laws, including filing tax returns and keeping tax records.
• Liaise with auditors and consultants for year-end audit and statutory filings such as income tax, TDS and GST/VAT.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant or Inter CA with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience.
• Understanding of commodity trading and trade finance operations is an added advantage.
• Location: Dubai.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial analysis and taxation laws.
• Proficiency in Tally accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and teamwork abilities, and good time management.
