Assistant Manager – SOX Compliance

About the role

The Assistant Manager – SOX will support and oversee SOX compliance and internal control activities for the US region while being based in the UAE. The role blends execution, coordination, stakeholder management, and governance oversight to ensure adherence to SOX, COSO, IFRS and PCAOB standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end SOX compliance activities, including planning, scoping, walkthroughs, testing, deficiency assessment, remediation tracking and reporting.
• Document and maintain business processes, Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs) and related documentation in line with SOX and COSO requirements.
• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing of key controls, ensuring complete audit evidence and timely closure of gaps.
• Monitor remediation activities and provide dashboards, updates and governance reporting to senior management and global SOX leadership.
• Partner with business stakeholders to embed effective controls, drive standardisation, automation and simplification.
• Deliver training, guidance and advisory support to process and control owners on SOX and internal‑control requirements.
• Support enterprise risk‑management initiatives, special projects, deep‑dive reviews and strategic internal‑control programmes.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, risk management or internal audit.
• Professional certification preferred (CPA, CA, CIA, CISA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of COSO, SOX, IFRS and PCAOB standards.
